Monthly Client Spotlight – Benjamin Steakhouse, New York & Tokyo

Our August client in the spotlight is Benjamin Steakhouse and co-owners Benjamin Sinanaj and Benjamin Prelvukaj. These two restaurateurs have more in common than a family relationship as brothers-in-law. Both immigrants from Albania, they met while working their way up the food chain at Peter Luger Steakhouse in Brooklyn. After learning everything possible about prime steak and perfect service, they decided to take a gamble on the hospitality industry and branch out on their own.

Since starting the namesake Benjamin Steakhouse in 2006, both Sinanaj and Prelvukaj have honed the concept of destination dining to new heights by handpicking their meats, aging them well, taking a chance on a “quirky” mid-town location and then treating everyone who walks through their doors “like kings!” MVPs and VIPs from the corporate, fashion, and entertainment worlds pack the house daily and come to enjoy the sizzling steaks and savor the sauces as well as the impeccable service. Everything from the décor to the menus and the wine list is as classic and consistent as the food and its presentation is flawless.

Benjamin Sinanaj was studying physics when he came to New York in 1986. Benjamin Prelvukaj immigrated as a teenager in the late 90s when the war heated up in Kosovo. The two were destined to meet and pursue their culinary dream together, and then of course Prelvukaj’s sister eventually married Sinanaj which sealed the deal. Besides a solid work ethic and an appreciation for the American dream, they share a commitment to hands on management and customer service.
